School Council

Meet this years school council

What is the School Council?

The school council works to make improvements to the school and the way we do things at St Peter’s. We look around for things that could be better and discuss what to do. Everyone gets a chance to speak and when we’ve finished we vote on the best ideas and then start working on changing things. Sometimes we have to talk to teachers and sometimes we have to make phone calls to people outside of the school.

Who are the School Councillors?
Every year we run an election campaign to vote for two new representatives for each class. A good representative will speak at the council meetings about things that their class is interested in. They will also tell their class about what is going on in the council meetings and put the minutes up in the classroom.

We have lots of plans for this year so keep an eye on this page to see what we are up to.

During our first meeting the children have been discussing options for the end of year 100% Attendance and highest class attendance reward trip. The children have come up with 3 options which we have put onto an online voting form for the classes to vote for. Check back to see what the children have voted for this year!

The children have voted for the class attendance prize this year to be a bouncy castle obstacle course fun day!!!!!!

The school council have already met with local councillors who have visited school and had fantastic discussions with them about school life!

The school council have also lead an assembly to support awareness for the International week for the deaf.
